End User License Agreement
This End User License Agreement (EULA) governs your use of Staged software. Please read carefully before installing or using the software.
1. Agreement to Terms
This End User License Agreement ("EULA" or "Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Staged ("we", "us", or "our") for the use of Staged software, including all associated files, documentation, and updates ("Software").
BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
If you are accepting these terms on behalf of an organization or entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to this Agreement.
2. License Grant
Staged is commercial software distributed exclusively through Steam. By purchasing or installing the Software, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Software on devices you own or control, subject to the terms of this Agreement.
- Install and use the Software on devices you own or control
- Receive updates delivered through Steam
- Use the Software for personal gaming and streaming purposes

2.1 Open Source Nature
Staged is distributed as a paid commercial application through Steam. Your license is tied to your Steam account and is governed by both this EULA and the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Official downloads are available at staged.gg and on Steam.
2.2 Updates and Modifications
We may release updates, patches, or new versions of the Software. While updates are optional, we recommend keeping the Software current for security and functionality improvements. Updates are subject to this EULA unless accompanied by a new agreement.
3. Restrictions
This EULA establishes restrictions to protect users and maintain community standards. You agree NOT to:
3.1 Malicious Use
- Use the Software to develop, distribute, or deploy malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Use the Software to exploit, hack, or attack other systems or users
- Integrate the Software into tools designed for unauthorized access
3.2 Gaming Integrity
- Use the Software to cheat, exploit, or gain unfair advantages in competitive multiplayer games
- Use the Software to circumvent anti-cheat systems in violation of game terms of service
- Create or distribute modifications that enable cheating functionality
3.3 Legal Compliance
- Use the Software for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable laws
- Use the Software to infringe on intellectual property rights of others
- Use the Software in jurisdictions where such use is prohibited
3.4 Brand and Trademark
- Use the Staged name, logo, or branding in a way that implies official affiliation or endorsement without permission
- Create products that may cause confusion with official Staged offerings
- Modify or misrepresent the Staged brand identity
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Software Code
The Software and all associated intellectual property are owned by Staged and protected by copyright law. Your license to use the Software is personal, non-transferable, and limited to the terms of this Agreement.
4.2 Staged Branding
The "Staged" name, logo, visual identity, and associated branding elements are proprietary trademarks. and remain the exclusive property of Staged.
4.3 Third-Party Components
The Software incorporates third-party open source components, each governed by their respective licenses. A list of major third-party licenses is available on our License page.
4.4 Your Content
Any presets, configurations, or content you create using the Software belongs to you. By sharing content publicly through our platforms, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
5.1 No Guarantee of Functionality
We do not warrant that:
- The Software will meet your specific requirements
- The Software will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from using the Software will be accurate or reliable
- Any errors in the Software will be corrected
5.2 Anti-Cheat Compatibility
We make NO WARRANTY regarding compatibility with anti-cheat systems. Some games may detect virtual display technology. You acknowledge that:
- Game bans may result from use with certain anti-cheat systems
- Compatibility may change without notice due to game updates
- Use in competitive games is at your own risk
5.3 System Impact
Virtual display drivers interface with core Windows components. While Staged uses Microsoft-supported APIs (IddCx), we do not guarantee:
- Complete system stability on all configurations
- Compatibility with all hardware and drivers
- No impact on system performance or behavior
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL STAGED, ITS AUTHORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Damages arising from game account bans or suspensions
- Damages resulting from system instability, crashes, or data loss
- Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Any other damages arising out of or related to your use of the Software
THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE, IF ANY.
7. Termination
7.1 Termination by You
You may terminate this Agreement at any time by:
- Uninstalling the Software from your devices
- Destroying all copies of the Software in your possession
- Ceasing all use of the Software
7.2 Termination by Us
We may terminate or suspend your license immediately, without prior notice, if you:
- Violate any term of this Agreement
- Use the Software for malicious purposes
- Engage in conduct harmful to other users or the community
7.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the Software under this EULA terminates
- You must uninstall and destroy all copies of the Software
- Sections 4, 5, 6, and 8 survive termination
7.4 Open Source Rights
Upon termination of this EULA, your right to use the Software ends immediately. You must uninstall and destroy all copies of the Software. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.
8. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the primary developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
8.1 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from or relating to this Agreement shall be resolved through:
- Informal Resolution: Good-faith negotiation between the parties
- Mediation: If negotiation fails, non-binding mediation
- Arbitration: If mediation fails, binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules
8.2 Class Action Waiver
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY PROCEEDINGS TO RESOLVE DISPUTES WILL BE CONDUCTED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
8.3 Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
9. Changes to This Agreement
We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Material changes will be announced on our website and Discord server
- Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance
We encourage you to review this Agreement periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Software following the posting of changes means you accept those changes.
